Green eyes have a mystery and intrigue all their own. Here’s how to make green eyes really stand out.
Were you fortunate enough to be born with green eyes? Green eyes always appear so intensely mysterious as if they’re hiding a special secret. If you’re fortunate enough to have this stunning shade of eyes, you’ll want to learn how to enhance the beauty of them. With a few simple makeup tricks and careful selection of the clothing you wear, you can make green eyes really pop:
Choosing makeup colors
Colors that are complimentary to one another on the color wheel tend to enhance one another. If you look on the standard color wheel, dark green is opposite to the red and pink family. For this reason, you’ll find that eyeshadows that have red and pink undertones will tend to enhance the hue of green eyes. Eyeshadow colors that tend to magnify the rich hue of green eyes include the copper family, coral, apricots, and some pink tones. Deep browns can also make a dramatic statement with green eyes, although the look will be more pronounced when you use a lighter highlighting shade in the peach or pale copper family on the upper brow. Avoid using eyeshadows in shades of green since this will detract from your beautiful eye color. Shades of blue are also generally not flattering to green eyes.
When choosing an eyeliner, a shade of brown works well for most green eyed women. Paler skinned women can opt for a lighter shade of brown, while olive skin will benefit from a bolder, deeper shade of brown. You can further enhance your green eye color by choosing a blush and lipstick in a complimentary shade. Lipstick and blush in tones of peach, apricot, and coral can deepen the green in your eyes although you don’t want to apply them too heavily as this will detract attention away from your mysterious green eyes.
Choosing clothing colors
To enhance the color of green eyes, consider adding some green to your wardrobe. When light hits your green outfit it tends to reflect onto your eyes and makes them appear deeper in hue. When choosing clothing colors, you’ll also want to take into consideration your skin tone and hair color to avoid looking washed out. If you have red hair and green eyes, you’ll look striking in the warm orange and copper shades whereas if you have pale skin, you’ll want to select cooler shades of clothing. Gold can be a particularly attractive color on many women with green eyes. Don’t forget that gold jewelry can be used to play up green eyes, particularly when worn around the face. A pair of striking gold earrings will not only call attention to your face and eyes, they’ll also enhance your eye color.
If you have green eyes, don’t hesitate to show them. A little eye makeup in the right shade and gold jewelry may be all you need to turn pretty eyes into show stoppers.
