We Used to Call Her Princess

While boys are being prepared for the real world, why do we ignore the daughters of the world and keep her trapped in an ivory tower to wait for a man to save her? The only prep a female gets growing up is what she fights for after reality sets in.

Men and woman are raised differently, when preparing them for the real world.  A boy seems to get muscled around, playing with army men, trucks and cars.  Girls are placed in dresses, handed dolls as the family creates an illusion of royalty as we call her Princess.  Family doesn’t do anything to prepare a female for the reality of life.

While we are pampering her, we see she is daddy’s little girl, but daddy wont live forever.  Men are cowards when it comes to family, as some run off, some hang out with their friends, and some just don’t care.  The ones that stick around, seem to at least try to make a man out of a son, while the daughter, well, she sits in the huge lifelike doll house in her pink frilly dress.

Once the boy becomes a man, he is ready for the world.  We try to aim them towards goals and give them a shove.  The female, usually leaves the nest looking for that kingdom they used to call home, but that was only make believe.  She clings to guys that remind her of daddy hoping that she will continue that protected lifestyle she once knew only to find out he is a jerk and the search goes on.

Women are smarter then that.  They make choices; they become whatever they want to be.  They are CEO’s, hey are Senator’s, they are managers, feminists, or what ever goal they set their sites on.  No, women are not stupid, but still, deep inside they still dream of that special someone that will treat them like a princess no matter how powerful they become.

As a man, I know it sounds one sided, but, as men, we should all stop the nonsense.  Treat all women with respect, honor, and courtesy.  Some men seem to think that a woman is inferior, but she is not.  She has intuition, a higher threshold for pain as well as the mental capacity to learn more.  Men are too focused on being macho and competing whenever another man comes around.  The only time a woman need to be competitive is in business or when another female has her sites on her man, or woman what ever her choice is.  A woman in a relationship can be sick but still she needs to find the time to show the other half where the band aids are.  When a man gets sick, he stays in bed crying and whining while his woman nurses him back to heath.  A woman gives birth, but yet we complain when we get a paper cut.  I know this is a male point of view and a lot of woman will think of it as silly, foolish, and stupid, but I treat everyone with respect.  Yes, we used to call her princess but now she deserves to be called Queen.  As a man, I bow to all women because they are simply the better half.
