In one week’s time, two reports of women being scammed in Spartanbug County have been filed with the local police.   First it was a wooden iPad, now it’s a laptop made of paper.

While at a local gas station, two women were approached by a man claiming to have laptop computers  for sale.   He told the women he had acquired the laptops, which were in FedEx boxes, at a discount and gave the women and proposed to sell them one for the price of $250.

After going to an ATM to withdraw the cash, the women payed  the man.  Once they returned home, the women finally realized, to their surprise, they had been scammed. finding only a power cord and stacked paper wrapped in black duck tape.

Because the descriptions of the man’s facial features  have similiarities, it is believed that both scams were carried out by the same person.

Ladies, all I can say is… you get what you pay for.  Use your heads.

Don’t buy iPads or laptops from someone who approaches in a parking lot.
