Four Things Men Admit: Women Can Do Better Than Us

For once in our life, a man tells us we’re right about certain things.

Hail to the goddess within you!
Silence is golden
When women suddenly keep quiet, be they a significant other, a mother, a sister or even a complete stranger, we lose hands down. When asked if every thing’s alright or if we’ve done or said anything offensive or even remotely upsetting, women will reply “Nothing’s wrong, everything’s okay,” when even a blind man can see that she’s clearly not okay. Then she’ll follow it with complete silence–the kind that threatens a man’s sanity. If this is the game, we lose outright. So chalk one up for you girls, you have just effectively won every non-professional argument in the entire history of man and womankind.
You sexy thing!
Looking pretty and sexy is something girls definitely do better than men. Heck, most men don’t even exert any effort in trying to look attractive. Sure, there are male models who strut their stuff and show the opposing, er, opposite sex that men can be sexy and made up too, but it’s just not same. Men don’t have a sexy walk, unless you think the drunken shuffle is alluring. When a great looking girl enters a crowded room, ripples of admiration can be felt throughout the room from men and women alike but when an attractive guy comes in, it’s mostly just the girls who notice (mostly…).
PR
Women definitely work better with other people. It’s a phenomenon people start to observe in college; how women can start working and adjusting with group mates right away, even if they’ve only known each other five minutes. I think it’s our big egos that get in the way, or maybe women just know how to adjust better to a given situation whereas men try to change the situation to something more to their liking, or don’t do anything at all. Remember college? Who was the one who didn’t do anything for a group project? Usually a guy, right? Fast forward a few years and these women have joined the workforce–they still work, interact and mesh better with either sex. It’s a bonus too that women are so much better to look at than guys…
A friend indeed
The last and most significant thing is that women do better comes at a most painful time in a friend’s life–the break-up. Yes, women help other women move on after a nasty (or even a tame) break-up with a guy. Guys handled a broken-hearted friend by drowning his sorrow with beer and merely taking the guy’s mind off the topic. But girls? They may do the same thing, but they actually discuss the ins and outs of the failed relationship and keep tabs on her through the course of her “grieving period,” much like a doctor monitoring a patient. Meanwhile our prescription reads: “Get smashed and forget about it for a while.” That said, there really is no superior sex; we’re just built differently. It goes with the philosophy that everything must be in balance, the yin and the yang, the light side and the dark side. I believe these differences are necessary for the growth of both men and women. But… guys can still drive circles around girls.

Hi, Julie Ann, how are you?
I really like this article,… but, I find it hard to understand why you would take a male’s perspective on the subject. There are a few times throughout the article where you use an inclusive pronoun like “we” and “our” from a male perspective. No offense, but your picture shows you as a young woman, not a man. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Well written! Good subject.

Haha, hilarious.
However, the first-person view makes me wonder if some copying and pasting went on…

Yes! I believe that all females have been for trillions of years emotionally bruise… and I don’t blame them for having some level of control… you know! Janet kinda said it best… all together I believe that this article can create an all female community for healing purposes that will allow men to understand what you really want! This is an excellent report!

hi adam,
read the title and the description…
“Four Things Men Admit”: Women Can Do Better Than “Us”,
For once in our life, “a man tells us we’re right about certain things.”
i use “we” and “are” it means “IT”S ONE MAN’S PERSPECTIVE”, it’s male’s point of view…
oh yes, there’s something wrong with my picture, i’ll fix this… thanks!

Full truth, and there are more things that women do much better than men.

I have three daughters and I am a stay-at-home dad. I don’t find this list to be true and I am surrounded by women all day everyday. I find myself being silent more than most moms, the ‘Sexy’ think is totally subjective, ‘PR’ is nonsense–many men are excellent communicators–this is another subjective observation where many examples can be drawn to the contrary, I can’t really see one piece of factual information here so I am sorry to say I can not agree.

This is too one-sided and there’s too little for me to agree with. Your “Golden Silence” is also a man’s best expression and it’s clearer. Haven’t you heard the song- “you say it best when you say nothing at all?”- it was dedicated to a man!
I enjoyed reading it but it will take more effort to get me in agreement.
