12 Things of The Essence of Today’s Woman

Today I read the blog from Basic Goodness, 12 things every guy should master to become a real man by Atalwin Pilon and it is a great list to guide men to be all that they ought to be in this day and age. Then I thought after thinking and considering conversations I have had with men and women about what they are looking for today and decided perhaps it is time for me to write my thoughts on the subject of what women ought to master. Now this list is from the stand point of being a woman understanding what is being looked for in a “woman.”  It was funny that a friend of mine told me to “just be the woman.” When I asked him what that meant to him, his words came for the 1950s in my view… “A woman is someone who does the cooking and cleaning… there for me.”  My comment to this was not too accepting of this role as I am so much more than that. With this in mind, now onto the list of my thoughts of what a woman ought to master and be in this time of shifting energies and paradigm. All are of equal importance these days. If I had to pick one word to describe it that one word would be “Goddess” is what today’s women are striving to become and ought to be. Now what are the qualities of the Goddess energy in today’s world? These are just some of the aspects and essence of the Goddess; Being true to self; balance within the mind, body, and spirit; integrity; resiliency; great sense of humor; nurturing; beauty; groundedness; sensuality; faithfulness with devotion; being alluring with the air of mystery; wise and common sense; adoring and worshipped. 1.    True to Self – A woman must be whole and complete within herself, meaning self-reliant. Knowing what she wants and knowing she can get it without manipulation. Men today accept and expect women to be able to take care of themselves and not depend on them for financial or emotional support.  Interdependence is a key word for all relationships with a loving detachment emphasized. This also speaks to the simple fact that all people are equal and women desire to be an equal in her relationships, not subservient to another.
Another aspect of this could be called the “Bitch” or the strong woman who doesn’t take crap from anyone. How she exactly does this differs with kindness or a whip. She has her boundaries well established and keeps them with respect of all concerned. 2.    Balance of mind, body, spirit- Through awareness and consciousness of her entire being. She is not just her body. She uses her mind and spirit to bring out the best in any situation with grace and a smile on her face and heart. Kind and compassionate are a must, though she knows her boundaries and stand up for herself. Serenity and peace of mind radiate from her through her power of intuition and trust in herself. 3.    Integrity is top on my list in qualities. It goes much with the number one idea of true to self with honesty, honoring and respecting her and others. Say what you mean and mean what you say. By definition it is “An undivided or unbroken completeness or totality with nothing wanting.” Women tend to get overloaded with things they need to do or want to do. Women are learning it is okay to say no and hold firm to that idea. 4.    Resilience is important and these days, most women are learning this quality early on in their lives. Women since the age of women’s liberation took on more of the ego-essence known from men, meaning living in a man’s world and understanding those rules. Strong women make it in the business world through persistence, focus and being present with the dynamics of the niche they work in. Not always easy as society has still got certain ideas. 5.    Sense of humor is critical for everyone. Women are taking on serious matters in the office and home front. This is all illusion and a paradox as such, so as much as she will have those moments of stress or delusion, she must laugh at her situation and breathe deeply. Relax and shake it all off. That balance of self helps with this as well. 6.    Nurturing is a must. Not just for her relationships and through friends. She must give back to herself at times. Even if it is just 30 minute soak in a tub or a quiet moment writing in her journal or reading a book, it will bring her back into her power and center at the end of a long day. Most women are givers naturally to others, it is giving back to herself that she often doesn’t make the time for anymore. It is necessary for each woman to be fully aware and continue with all that she does.  Many women automatically take care of those around them. For example, my sister who is living with me often comments that I make a good wife as I make sure she is well taken care of as I did with my intimate relationships. This is an innate state for me and most women are givers. 7.    Beauty is not just skin deep. It is her ability to see the beauty within her and others. That grace of essence and element that brings a person and a home all together. It is taking care of herself and allowing herself to bloom into all her true colors and let it all show to others with a greater appreciation of self. 8.    Groundedness is one of those things that I see needed by many working women. She is running in many directions and getting it all done yet not remembering all that she is doing. She is on auto pilot, of sorts. Groundedness is consciously being aware of all your actions, thoughts and doings while being at peace in the moments of chaos. Just even taking a few deep breaths that will bring her to center and grounding her in her body and the moment.   9.    Sensual and sexy is one of those things that are seemingly required for all feminine in society. Sensual is the sense of pleasure through not just the body though that tends to be the focus. Though in the bedroom, she needs to enjoy expressing her passions and being open to receive that pleasure back. It is being fully in the moment at all moments.
There is an unhealthy way of being too focused on the sensual pleasures that could lead a woman to be less respected and used. At times, there are issues brewing within about her self worth that she needs to address and she may feel this is the only way she may get attention from men.
 There are other forms of sensual experiences. Music and food can be a sensual experience as well. A sultry song or the sounds that touch the heart and bring up passionate response or the taste of a strawberry or chocolate can be decadent and satisfying. It is that pleasurable sigh and whine that women give out in pleasing.  It is feeling who and what she is in her fullest and passionate about life and all she does. 10. Faithfulness and Devotion are two items that seem to be changing during this shift. What is faithfulness to one self and with the devotion to another can be opening to conversation on the expectations within a relationship and even loyalty within a friendship. The basic idea here is the understanding of her beliefs towards relationship and companionship with awareness of the implications of them in this now moment. 11. That air of mysterious allure is a quality that intrigues people and makes them attracted in finding out what the woman is about… really. Suave and sultry way about her that is how people see her; The come hither look and answering questions with questions and keeping the uncertainty alive with honesty and presence; Showing all she is without showing anything more. There is a touch of vulnerability feeling in her as she looks into a person’s eyes, touching the soul with a deep understanding of who is with them. There is a grace and elegance around her through a dance of energies bringing her to a different place and setting her off from the rest. 12. Wise, intellectual and street smart. This is simply stated. She uses her brain in further awareness, assistance and presence in the common sense way of doing things for others. She is practical and understands the grand plan of life. She uses all her senses and sensibilities to create her world and add magic around her. Men are attracted to a woman who is well rounded in her experiences and knows herself in all ways.  13.  She feels and knows that she is love and loved. She trusts that inner voice and truth with feeling safe in whom and what she is at all times. That attracts many to worship and adore her presence in their life as she brings a joyous radiant happiness and balance to their lives. She has those human moments of emotions, though she understands the fundamental truths of the essence of what she truly is. She is all she can be and enjoys being all she is. And that is the most important thing of all.
