Wedding Planning

A piece of writing about announcing your engagement.

Planning a wedding is the most enjoyable experience of a woman’s life. This is after all something which she has been planning since she had “Bridal Barbie” and dreamed of finding her Ken. Now she has found him and of course he’s just not interested. It is desperately surprising just how many women seek reassurance from women who do not know them at all. And what is possibly even more surprising is that this reassurance is not always about the up and coming nuptials. One woman for example, needs someone to tell her that inviting her prospective in-laws to the wedding is not a mistake. Another needs someone to tell her that yes it is normal for H2B * Hubby to be, to shrug his shoulders and scratch his balls when ever anyone so much as says the word weddings. Seeing a man on a wedding forum or wedding website is about as rare as a golden egg hatched freshly from a chicken. These women pounce on him like he is the last man on earth asking him why do men propose, why do their lips say they want to get married but the body language doesn’t? What’s even more shocking is how many people actually announce their engagement to unknown women on forums before telling parents. These wedding forums are their first ports of call. And that is what is deeply disturbing. There are women on here who tell every single woman, no matter what her size, shape, colour that she looks fantastic in her wedding dress. And granted every woman does look amazing in her wedding dress, they emulate light, they glow when faced with “The One”. However, there are women on here who will tell a woman bigger than an 18 that yes she does look fat, yes she does need to diet and yes her husband is going to leave her for a younger model. Seriously is there any need for that hatred? There are women on these forums who think nothing of telling complete strangers that they are paying £50,000 for their wedding. Now surely in this day and age, once you have revealed where you live and your name, someone can track you down. Every detail of a woman’s sex life with her husband is scrutinised, she even reveals that yes they did buy that rampant rabbit from Ann Summers a couple of months ago and yes they have used it. It’s impossible to tear yourself away from these forums once you have started. And yes, this is talking from experience. So what happens when you actually start planning your wedding, having spoken to these people who are paying £50,000 for their wedding….well…..
