Wedding Guest Book

The guest book at weddings has become boring in this new age of wedding. Some more interesting ideas could be:

Use index filing box with index cards – so that guests can write a note and their name on the index card. The cards can then put in the filing box under their last name. You will have a memento for years to come that is easily stored.

A wishing tree can be used as part of the decor and makes a pretty presentation. Purchase a silk tree or tall branches in the theme that you would like to convey for the wedding. If you purchase tall branches you will also need to purchase a floor vase or table vase – ensure that the branches are weighted down by rocks within the vase so they do not fall when handled by guests. Whole punch small pieces of colored paper, tie this in with your wedding colors. Tie a ribbon long enough so that when the paper is hung from the tree it hangs down on its own. On the signing table have a note in a picture frame stating that guests can leave well wishes for the bride and the groom. Guests will be able to write their well wishes on the paper and then hang them from a branch. The papers can then be used as a collage in a picture if desired.

A purchased ceramic plate from a ceramic outlet store could make an interesting keepsake for the bridal couple. The clay place should be unfired so that guests can sign the plate with a marker. Have a ceramic studio fire and glaze the plate and add any embellishments you wish or color. You can now use that for decoration in your home.

Use small stones that well wishers can write notes on. Make sure the pen used is indelible ink. Supply a clear planter box or tin that the stones can be dropped into. This will make the presentation more interesting – you can then use these in your garden or your flower pots or in a vase. It will make an interesting presentation in your home for many years to come.

Make sure that your guests know what is expected of them when they walk through the door either by having signage with instructions – this can be put in a pretty picture frame or having someone there to help out.
