Indian Wedding Bidaai.

In Indian weddings, like wedding all over the world, the moment when Bride starts for her new home is celebrated like all other rituals. It is a moment of mixed emotions when the bride on one hand is sad about leaving her parents while on the other she’s happy to begin a new chapter in her life.

Most of the time during Bidaai, the bride and her family cry controlably. The bride is given farewell by her family and relatives. Both the bride and the groom touch the feet of elders and seek their blessings. It is a very emotional moment for the bride and her family.

In some cultures, once the bride leaves the main door of the house,it is not a good sign for the bride to turn back and enter. Once she goes out, she has to enter the vehicle and leave her parents.

In some community, the bride has to be carried by a relative to the vehicle. She is not supposed to walk the whole distance from the front door to the vehicle.
