In geographic region (India), the followers of Gautam Buddha have a marriage during which rituals square measure AN merger of Sanskrit and Buddhist traditions.
Buddhist wedding rituals square measure terribly straightforward. No prolonged chantings or Agni (the sacred fire), no necessary rules and laws.
Early morning on the day of wedding, the groom and his family visit Dragon palace or Vihaar and get the blessings of Gautama. the sunshine incense sticks and supply prayers. at that time the procession starts towards the bride’s home or to the marriage hall. The procession is termed Baarat.
Once they reach the venue, the bride’s family welcome the groom’s with aarati.
Both the bride and therefore the groom square measure created to sit down on the elevated platform. throughout this ritual they need to wear white coloured garments. it’s one amongst the few necessary rule of Buddhist Wedding.
The couple then bow 3 times before the Buddha Buddha’s sculpture, light-weight candles and incense sticks so they sit on the bottom facing the sculpture. The Monk starts attractive vandana that the couple must repeat once each line.
Once the vandana is over, the bride and groom stand facing one another. Warmala or garland of flowers is handed to the couple. because the Monk sings vandana, the bride places the garland around groom’s neck and contrariwise.
At now the relatives, friends and families throw flowers at the couple.
I feel it’s a pretty ritual.
