The trick to keeping stress of planning a wedding down is to see if you can cut down on the price. Weddings are very expensive events and the costs are rising as the economy is in crisis. It makes sense to try and save money while you plan the big day.
The first way in which you can save money when planning your wedding is to plan it yourself rather than having a wedding planner. It may cause more hassle than having someone plan it all for you but you save on very expensive costs by doing it all yourself. You can get both the bride and grooms family to help in the planning, and this can bring the whole family closer together.
Large served dinners for the reception will cost a fair bit when you plan your wedding day so consider the idea of having a buffer that consists of finger food. You can make this finger food yourself very easily at home, and again you can get the family to help out with this. Excluding alcohol from the occasion will also aid in keeping costs down and you will find that this takes up the bulk of the cost when it comes to the reception.
Making your bridal bouquet and bridesmaid’s flowers is another great idea to keep the cost of your wedding down. This is great because you can have your own personal style of flowers and make the bouquets unique and individual. It will also work out much cheaper than having a florist do this for you.
When thinking of the venue for your wedding, why not consider the idea of holding the ceremony in your home, and this applies to the reception as well. This can help to massively reduce the cost of your wedding and with the right amount of decoration you could have a sunny outdoor wedding in the comfort of your own back garden.
The dress will often be one of the most expensive parts of your wedding and you should consider making the dress yourself. If you are not creative enough to do this, try and find a member of the family or friend of the family that has experience in such a talent and see if they cannot design and make the perfect wedding gown for a fraction of the normal price.
Planning a wedding is a long and tiresome process but the good news is that costs can be reduced by a little care and thoughtful planning.
