Nonverbal communication is just as important as verbal communication in a conversation. Such things as eye contact, proximity, gesture, orientation and appearance are all useful in adding emphasis, meaning and implied meaning to our verbal language. But, in the same time they also show who has power or status in a conversation, as well as helping us to identify the roles of people in a conversation.
