If whorls and cowlicks are cut a little longer than the strands of hair surrounding them, and they are cut in the direction that the hair is growing, usually they will be less noticeable to the casual observer. Although curling and flat irons and styling gels can offer temporarily solutions to these unruly hair patterns, it’s easiest to let them grow in their natural directions.
