Although we would have thought that purple and gold are the so-called regal colors, your daughter is not going to like them very much. If you ask her what colors she would like to have for her bedroom walls, she would most probably say pink!
Start with this as a basis for the color of the bedroom walls. You will also find that it’s easier to find matching accessories as a lot of them are pink. If you do not like it to be too gaudy, then choose white as a neutralizer. Pink and white is a good combination for walls.
If you are an artist, you can paint the walls of your daughter’s bedroom with a mural. But, like most people, you are not, then you can get a wallpaper mural of castles, clouds, princes and the like. Let your princess choose the murals she likes.
A must-have for any princess! The bed must look luxurious enough for your little princess. On top of the plush bed, soft organza material can be used to cover the canopy of the bed, creating a soft touch to the room.
Your daughter can choose a favorite princess character bed sheet, which usually comes with comforter and matching pillow cases. There are many characters to choose from including Cinderella, Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Snow White, Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Jasmine (Aladdin). These bed sheets are easy to find. You can buy them at online stores.
Besides the bed, you would need a dresser and stool fit for a princess, a chest of drawers for her clothes and a bedside table with a decorative, beaded lampshade, adding to aura of being in a princess chamber.
Warm, velvety curtains may add to the castle-like ambience! Choose a color that complements the wall colors.
Princess character picture frames with a picture of your daughter in a princess costume would be an interesting addition to her dressing table or on top of her chest of drawers. You could add a nice rug and a bedroom sign which says “Princess …” and the name of your daughter at the door.
If your daughter loves to play dress-up, set up a corner where all her princess gowns and dresses are located. She will have lots of fun trying out the different costumes.
Costume jewelry which includes necklaces, bangles and tiaras can be inserted into a jewelry box at the dressing table.
Last of all, put some enchanting princess story books in her bookcase. There are many to choose from the Walt Disney collection. In addition to the examples above, you could also have Pocahontas, Mulan and Esmeralda.
With so many ideas here, you can now create that dream bedroom together with your princess and make her dream come true.
