Valentine’s Gifts for Your Love
Instead of flowers and chocolates, why not give your love something different – and very romantic – this February 14?
Candy and flowers been done before? Want to give your love something a little different this Valentine’s Day? There are plenty of unusual yet very thoughtful and romantic gifts you could give him or her on February 14.
An Album of Love Songs.
There are plenty of beautiful compilations around. Choose a compilation album with a variety of performers, or an album from your love’s favourite performer. From Elvis Presley, to Celine Dion, Van Morrison to Mariah Carey, there ia a love song for every musical taste.
A Book of Love Poetry.
Again, choose either a collection of various poets – every online bookstore has numerous love poem anthologies – or, if you know your love’s favourite poet, buy one of his/her collections. Famous love poets include Shakespeare, Browning and Keats, but for something different you might try lesser known, more recent poets like Pablo Neruda.
Personalise it.
A gift bearing your love’s name (or better, still BOTH of your names) can be really unique. How about a name plaque explaining the significance of their name, or a family coat of arms? Of course there are cheaper gifts readily available for personalisation – from teddy bears to coffee mugs, or, for something naughty, personalised underwear.
A Picnic.
No matter what the weather, a hamper of fine foods and, of course, champagne, can be enjoyed as an intimate Valentine’s experience. If it’s too cold to venture outdoors, you can picnic on a rug in your lounge room. Pack fine cheeses, fresh bread, strawberries, pate, or whatever your love’s favourites are.
A Photo frame – with a photo of the two of you, of course.
Again, this could be even better if you arrange for a sitting on the day – have a photographer lined up as a surprise and present the photo frame just before hand.
Of course there really isn’t much wrong with chocolate and roses, but your love will be surprised that you went to the trouble of arranging something unique. Go ahead and make your Valentine’s Day one to really remember.
