Mother’s Day Gifts She’ll Remember

It can be difficult to think of a gift for Mother’s Day. Here are some original ideas that don’t have to be expensive and that she’ll love.

Mother’s Day can often seem like another holiday created by the likes of companies like Hallmark to sell more of their product.  Even so, mothers appreciate being remembered and shown they are loved.  The problem comes when deciding what to get your mother.  Flowers in the mail?  Too cliché.  Chocolates?  That may mess with that diet program she’s on.  The best gifts are thoughtful and not necessarily expensive.  Here’s a list of ideas that are sure to make your mother melt and your friends to make fun of you for the cheese factor:

  1. For the musician, write here a song and sing it to her over the phone.
  2. Flowers may seem cliché and too expensive.  Draw a rose for her and write a sappy but thoughtful note.  She might hang it on the refrigerator like she did when you were six.
  3. If your mother is single and never dates, take her out on the town.  You can do something simple like dinner and a movie or something a little more creative like going to a paint your own pottery shop or cooking class.  It all depends on what she likes to do.
  4. Take her back to your childhood.  Think of the one thing she enjoyed doing most with you, like walking to the ice cream shop for a cone with sprinkles, and do it again.
  5. Have a family picnic in the park.  While this may not be true in all cases, she just wants to spend time with you and the rest of her family.  Take a family photo, frame it, and wrap it up for her.

There is a theme here.  None of these gifts are about buying her a gift as they are about making her a gift or giving her an experience.

i agree with you 100 % that mothers day should be about remembrance rather than buying some expensive gift.
