Summer Guide to Bikinis and Swimwear
As you’re shopping for your summer wardrobe, grab that hot bikini on the rack! Summer’s the time to look as attractive as possible, and a flattering bikini will add to your zest.
A guide to Bikinis
-
Bandini/Bandeau:
The first bikini to gain acceptance in the older times, it has a short tube top with a traditional bottom. It keeps a big bust in place, but isn’t very flattering on women with smaller busts. If you have a larger bust, you can try the camikini, which has more support in the top. The bandini is not for those who use a bikini for sports; these tend to slip…the bandini is also sometimes known as the bandeau
-
Microkini:
Very minimal bikini, which covers only what is necessary, known as the modern day fig leaf. It was invented in the seventies, when nude bathing was prohibited.
-
Unikini/Monokini:
Gives the body maximum exposure, covered by only the bikini bottom, you’ll never lose shock value. Before going topless, make sure you’re in a nude beach, or somewhere less conservative, you might not want to take the risk.
-
String Bikini:
The classic bikini most women wear consisting of four triangles of fabric. This summer, designers are designing many different variations of this string bikini, with lace, sheer fabrics, and different shapes and colored fabrics. Floral prints are in this season, so go loose and let out your wild side! The string bikini looks great on almost every body, especially those with a boyish figure because it puts emphasis on the hips.
-
Trikini:
A short-lived 1968 trend. The top consisted of two separate cups held in place by Velcro.
Pair your bikini with a hott pair of sunglasses, or wild accessories, and you’ll be good to go this summer season. You want to look as attractive as possible out in the sun!
