The Body Shop’s Japanese Cherry Blossom and White Musk

A fragrance review of The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom and White Musk.

The Body Shop has always been this store with pretty decent products that have a light tone to them. They are not offensive at all and gives a sense of smoothness that suits almost everyone’s sensibilities. This sort of tradition is continued by The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom and White Musk. These two are the store’s best-selling fragrances for pretty satisfactory reasons.

The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom is cited to have top notes of Fuji apple, Chinese magnolia, and osmanthus flower; a heart of star jasmine, Japanese cherry blossom, and Japanese persimmon; and base notes of sandalwood, hinoki wood, and fruity musk. Quite a menagerie of ingredients here, but lighter than how it is on paper. Hints of powder, floral, and fruity scents give it a tinge of apple, accompanied with a decent wood base.

It is quite obvious why Japanese Cherry Blossom sold very well. This is a light and clean-smelling fragrance that does not overwhelm the senses, but relaxes them. It is somehow a stress-relieving fragrance that exudes an atmosphere of not needing to worry too much about life and just carry on as you will without any need for melancholy or angst. Perhaps it can be said that this is a happy scent. There may be better efforts than this, but this is still good in its own right.

The other half of this pair, the White Musk, as sales people employed by the store would assert time and again, is not from real deer musk. That may be good enough news for pro-animal activists, but the topic must not be changed. As for the primary matter of its scent, it gives off a velvety musk that is accompanied by a nose of lily, ylang ylang, jasmine, iris, rose, and some vanilla. They’re definitely scents that seems to have been blended quite well in this effort — a light-smelling musk complimented with floral undertones.

The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette is available in 50 ml, while the White Musk Eau de Toilette is available in 30 and 60 ml.
