If you like herbal treatments, I have a great herb for you.

I have something that I would like to share with you. I have been using lavender for several years now. I am not a fan of popping a pill because sometimes, they just do not work for me. This makes me constantly try herbal uses all the time for what ever is ailing me at the moment. It seems that I always return to a constant and faithful helper, Lavender. I started using it with my son when he was an infant. That was twelve years ago! Then, I began to use the herb in my family’s bath water and other places around my home. Both my husband and my son have always had sensitive skin, so lavender is always in their baths. My son likes it for it’s soothing and calming ability, because he takes Martial Arts.

We also use it for easing head aches, If you have lavender oils, just rub a small amount on your temples. Lavender creams are also great for skin irritations. Here is a surprise, if you have a brand new tattoo, lavender cream elevates the healing process and there is also less itching! I use this method myself. Not only does lavender make a great scent for a room, but it also makes a great flea repellent for your cat or dog. You should place a drop on the back of your pets neck, just as you would if it were those pricey drops from the vet’s office. The lavender drops last for about two or three weeks.

A bottle of lavender oil can be found any where. I buy it for about two dollars at my local dollar store, but I have also paid about nine dollars at the local “hippie-mart” or “Natural” store. If you have have the lavender flower buds, they are great for making a scented bath or even a hot tea! I learned that in Europe this past year! If you already have it in your bath soap, shampoo, air freshener, washing detergent, dryer sheets or dish washing soap, you can now add these uses to the list that seems to keep growing for this wonderful herb. It is truly universal.
