Why Men Cheat and Tips on Keeping Them Faithful

A lot of men cheat so how do you minimise the risk and help to keep your relationship healthy?
There are many reasons why men cheat but when asked for an explanation they often find it hard to put into words and usually end up blaming the woman for all the problems in the relationship.
Some men just get bored easily and are always looking for the next adventure. They feel that the fun has gone out of the relationship and are looking for excitement. Other men are serial cheaters and if they think they can get away with it they do not see anything wrong with it. Fear of commitment can drive a man to cheat because they want to feel free. Lack of communication can cause problems as the man may feel that the other woman listens to him and understands him.
For some men they are repeating history, perhaps their father had an affair and they believe that it is normal to turn to another woman. Alcohol and drugs can lower inhibitions and can tempt even a loving partner to do things he would not normally consider.
Some men feel they are not ready to settle down and be faithful to one partner. They want to play the field but they also want a loving partner at home so that they have the best of both worlds.
Is there anything you can do to stop your man from straying? Unfortunately, if he chooses to cheat there is little you can do to prevent this. However, there are things that help to keep your man by your side.
No man likes to come home to a nagging woman so try to greet him every evening with a smile. This can be difficult when there are a hundred things he has promised to do that are still waiting to be done but there is a time and a place to discuss this.
Discussion rather than nagging is a huge step to keeping your man. No matter how frustrated you feel it is always better to ask him to do things rather than complaining about the things he has not yet done. By asking instead of demanding he may actually listen to what you say.
Be prepared to listen to him. It works both ways but he needs to have his say as well. Do not let him try to browbeat you, simply listen and respond.
Men love to think they are needed. These days women are far more independent and men often feel they have nothing to offer. Thank him for the things he does and let him know you value him. He needs to value you as well but by taking the first step you are opening up the relationship to a more meaningful dimension.
Keep things exciting in and out of the bedroom. If you are often tired in the evenings you will have to plan ahead. Decide what you are going to do and when would be a good time for you both. Pamper yourself and allow yourself to relax so that you can enjoy yourself. Your enjoyment is just as important as his.
Surprise him by suggesting going on dates. The cinema, an intimate restaurant or something you used to do in the early days of getting to know each other will help to keep the relationship fresh and exciting. It does not have to be expensive or elaborate. It just has to be fun.
There are things you can do to keep your man by your side but sometimes nothing works. It is always worth working at a relationship because even if it fails you will always know that you did your best and you will be able to move on knowing that the fault was not yours.
