Spells to Make Him Yours

If you’ve tried everything to get the man you want and nothing’s worked, maybe it’s time to look to take a few tips from our witchy sisters of yesteryear and cast some potent love spells. Jacqui Deevoy shows you how…
At a party, I bumped into an old friend. “Help me,” she begged. “You know about magic.”
“Why, what’s happened?” I asked, all concerned.
“I’ve cast a spell on this bloke – to make him fall in love with me. The next thing I knew, he was asking me out. We went on a date, I went off him and now I can’t get rid of him.”
“Must have been a good spell,” I said.
“Too good,” she muttered. “Don’t look now, but that’s him over there.”
I glanced up and, sure enough, across the bar, was a truly besotted man, all puppy-dog eyes and drool.
“I said don’t look!” she panicked.
“Sorry,” I said, quickly averting my eyes.
“How do I reverse it?” she asked.
“Why bother?” I replied. “Just tell me the spell and I’ll include it in my feature…”
And here it is. See if it works for you…
WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER
You will need: One metre of red ribbon.
This is a really simple spell. All you have to do is spend some time every day thinking about the man of your dreams. As you do so, wrap the red ribbon around your index finger on your right hand, then press the ribbon-wrapped finger against your forehead. Concentrate on your love, thinking about his looks, his aroma, the way he feels (if you’ve felt him, that is!). Silently ask him to think of you and get a picture in your head of him doing just that. Hold that image for at least five minutes. Do this as many times a day as possible and sleep with the ribbon under your pillow at night. Soon, he’ll be completely crazy for you!
There are rules that must be followed when casting spells. According to spell expert Titania Hardie, they are as follows:
* Always exercise caution: spells are very powerful and should be treated with respect.
* Never use a spell to hurt someone else or to force them into a situation in which you know they would be uncomfortable.
* Keep it secret (i.e. don’t tell anyone, especially the person you intend to bewitch, that you’re casting a spell).
* Keep your mind strong and your heart pure (easier said than done!).
* Always perform your magic in a place you know you won’t be disturbed.
Many spells revolve around love potions. The only tricky thing about this though is the fact that you have to get the bloke you fancy to drink the stuff… If that’s possible, they’re well worth trying. Especially this one which I have actually used on several occasions and works a treat every time.
LET’S DRINK TO LOVE
You will need: Petals from nine dark red carnations; three borage leaves and as many flowers as possible; a small silver spoon; and (here’s the best bit…) a bottle of champagne or sparkling white wine.
Stir the petals and leaves into the champagne and leave in the fridge for a few hours. To keep it fizzy, hang the silver spoon in the neck of the bottle. Invite the bloke you fancy over for a drink… and watch him fall in love!
There are certain potions you can make to get his sap rising! This one is to wear not to drink, but works wonders. Give it a whirl and see…
MAKING SCENTS
You will need:
Three of the following aphrodisiacal oils: lavender, jasmine, rose geranium, ylang ylang, tuberose (especially effective), gardenia; some almond oil and some musk oil.
This spell should be performed on a Friday night close to the time of a Full Moon. (See BEST TIMES FOR SPELL-WEAVING section.) Choose three oils from the above list and mix 10 drops into 25ml of almond oil. Add a single drop of musk oil. Apply to your erogenous zones (between the breasts and behind the knees are good spots), then get as close as possible to the guy you fancy. One whiff of you and he’ll be yours forever.
Many spells involve planting seeds. Here’s a particularly easy and efficacious one…
SOWING THE SEEDS OF LOVE
You will need:
Some earth, a small pot and a handful of basil seeds.
Plant the seeds lovingly (and this means singing sweetly to them or thinking loving thoughts about the bloke you’ve got your eye on as you sow) in the pot. Every day, water the seeds and say: “Sono innamorata. Grazie.” When the seedlings appear, tend to them every day and do not allow them to die. In a few months (although it could be sooner), he will make his move. If the spell is especially successful (and the seedlings flourish), you may even find that this man is, in fact, the love of your life.
There are several other good love spells involving seeds. Here’s another…
Scatter a handful of seeds around a field, all the while thinking about the bloke you want to be with and chanting this little rhyme:
Seed I sow thee,
Come after me and show me.
Then, next time you see him, he won’t be able to keep away! Hurrah!
Some spells involve your hair. Here’s one for starters…
LOVE IS IN THE HAIR
You will need: A possession of his; a lock of your hair; a plastic bag; a patch of garden or window box.
To make the bloke you fancy fall in love with you, borrow something from him – don’t steal it or the spell won’t work. Take a lock of your hair and attach it to whatever it is you’ve borrowed. Wrap both in a plastic bag and bury it – preferably in your own garden or window box – in a bare patch of ground. Sprinkle some grass seeds on top of the earth. As the grass grows, so will your love. If, when he asks for the borrowed item to be returned, the grass has grown, true love will be yours. If he asks for the item back before the grass has grown, you’d be well-advised to forget him.
And here’s another hairy one…
You will need: A photo of the guy you want to be with; a ring; a strand of your hair.
This one’s designed to help you work out whether he’s actually worth the effort or not. Get a photo of the bloke you fancy. In front of it, hold a ring tied to the end of a strand of your own hair. Keep your hand very steady. If the ring moves in a circular motion, he’s worth working on and there’s a high chance of him falling for you; if it moves backwards and forwards, it could take a while. If it doesn’t move, forget the whole thing right now!
There is an old Irish method of attracting love by washing your hair with a magical, man-trapping tonic. This is how you make it…
You will need: A cup of warm spring water (heated up Evian will do!); one tablespoon of orris root; half a cup of finely chopped parsley and half a cup of mashed up lavender flowers.
Mix all the above ingredients together and, when you know you’re going to see the man of your dreams, wash your hair in this solution. Leave it on your hair for at least half an hour and use after or instead of conditioner. When he gets a whiff of it, there’s no way he’ll be able to resist you and he’ll be all yours!
If you fancy getting it together with someone who lives in another country, try this spell…
DOING A SHIRLEY VALENTINE
You will need:
A sea shell (the symbol of the traveller or foreigner); a lock of your hair (to represent yourself); a small silver charm (for luck); a sprig of rosemary (a love token); a small piece if paper; a pen; a red ribbon; sealing wax; a flask of wine; a mirror ad some matches.
This spell must be done by the seaside at the time of the Full Moon (see BEST TIMES FOR SPELL-WEAVING section) for it to succeed. Sit facing the sea, breathing in the air around you and clutching the above ingredients in a pouch or bag. Look to the moon and ask it to find someone suitable for you. Now write your name on the small piece of paper, roll it up and tie it with the red ribbon. Seal it with the sealing wax and show it to the moon and sea. Now have a sip of wine and toast the moon, whispering nine times:
“Shine your light across the ocean,
Guide to me my love’s devotion.
He who knows another life,
May now make of me his wife.”
Whilst chanting, throw the paper scroll into the sea, but before it disappears from view, hold up your mirror, catch the light of the moon in it, then catch sight of your scroll in it. Now hold up the silver charm to the moon and ask for the moon’s blessing. Then dig a small hole in the ground and place the shell, rosemary and lock of hair in it. Splash some wine on top of them, fill in the hole, then lay your cheek against the mound for a moment. When you return home, hold the silver charm up to the moon again and stand a broom in any corner of your house. (Every night for a month, show your silver charm to the moon and sleep with it under your pillow every night. Within three months, your foreign lover will show up.
Here’s a spell I picked up from a witchy website on the Internet. It’s a spell for marriage: if you want the bloke of your dreams to propose, this is all you have to do…
WEDDING BELLE
You will need: Two pink candles carved into male and female shapes (if you’re not feeling too arty, you can actually buy male and female figure candles from specialist shops), a rose quartz crystal, some patchouli oil and a handful of rose petals.
Cast a circle on the floor or ground using the rose petals. Anoint the candles with the oil (do this by dabbing oil onto each wick, then along the candle and leaving it to sink in for a few minutes), light them, then stand them within the circle. Sit inside the circle, hold the crystal to your heart, and stare at the candles. Visualise your wedding to the guy you fancy. Where is it? What are you both wearing? Who’s there? Go through the ceremony in your mind’s eye, taking in every detail. Then say:
“Here I am, come take me now,
I give my hand to thee I vow.
Let sun shine bright and moon beam down,
And put me in a wedding gown.
My love’s for you and only you,
It’s time for us to say “I do.”"
You’ll be marching up that aisle before you know it!
CHANGED YOUR MIND?
It sometimes happens that you cast a spell, then like my aforementioned friend, realise you’ve made a bit of a mistake.
I suggested reversing the spell she’d cast by tearing up the basil leaves and sprinkling them over a nice plate of spag bol. I’ve yet to discover whether it worked! But there is actually a very effective spell for disenchanting unwanted admirers. It goes like this…
You will need: A piece of paper bearing the name of the person you want to disenchant; a daffodil bulb and some camphor oil and leaves.
Do this spell when the moon is waning. (See BEST TIMES FOR SPELL-WEAVING section.) Plant the paper, daffodil bulb in a pot or in the ground, all the while explaining out loud why you do not want his affections and wishing him well with another partner. Talk to the plant every day, confirming this, then at the end of the week, ask him and a female friend to meet you for tea. On this day, burn the camphor oil (which has the exact opposite effect of an aphrodisiac) so it’s still in the air when he arrives. By the time he leaves, his affection for you will have diminished considerably. Keep tending to your daffodil until it blooms. Once in flower, his love for you will have disappeared altogether.
BEST TIMES FOR SPELL-WEAVING
Most love spells are best cast on Monday (the day of the Moon), Friday (the day of love) or a Saturday (the day of new beginnings).
The New Moon is said to provide the energy needed to make a spell work and if the spell is cast on days when the Moon is in signs ruled by Venus (the planet of love) it has more chance of success.
Certain spells are best executed at the time of the Full Moon.
To attract people to you, spells are sometimes cast when the Moon is waxing (the period between a New Moon and a Full Moon).
If you’re casting a spell which involves getting rid of people and things you don’t want or need, it’s best done when the moon is waning (that’s the period between a Full Moon and a New Moon.)
The weather actually plays a part in spell-weaving. Try to avoid casting your spells on foggy or rainy days. Sunny days are OK, but the best weather is stormy, when you can “borrow” energy from the thunder and lightning.
