Contemplating on contacting a former love? Ask yourself these questions.

Why didn’t things work?
List the reasons the relationship failed, considering all past problems prior to taking the plunge.
What do I want now?
Visualize the “ideal mate.” Does this person fit the bill? If not, it’s time to move on.
Is it reciprocal?
Was there any indication the old flame would want to be contacted? Both hearts should be thumping.
Am I just lonely?
If it’s merely companionship that’s sought, pursue activities of genuine interest. Mr. or Ms. Really Right may share those very same passions.

Hi! Thanks for adding Singletude: A Positive Blog for Singles over at BlogCatalog!
This is a great post! I would also add one more question to ask yourself: What has changed about me and my ex?
In order for the relationship to work the second time around, the issues that caused the breakup in the first place need to have been resolved. If neither you or your ex has made changes in those problematic departments, then the same old arguments and dissatisfactions will rear their ugly heads before long.
