Keeping Secrets, is It Good or Bad for a Relationship?

Whether, you are a man or a woman, it’s believed that you shouldn’t keep secrets from your partner for a healthy and long lasting relationship. While this could be the ideal condition for any couple, will it be possible to share everything with your partner in real life? Is it practically possible to tell every little detail of your past and present life with your partner? Or, is it good to keep certain secrets from your partner to maintain peace in your relationship? Please keep reading….
Why do people keep secrets in relationships? Most commonly both men and women hide their past sex life from their partners. They also would try to hide their sexual experiences outside their relationships. Nevertheless these secrets often prove to be disastrous in many relationships. Small secrets on the other hand are most often found to be harmless in any relationship.
Can the couple be 100% frank? It’s true that keeping secrets is bad in any relationship. Being frank all the time depends on several factors such as the individual, the situations, the understanding between the couple, the nature of secrets etc. In real life it’s very difficult to remain 100% frank to your partner all the time.
Keeping secrets in relationships: Is it possible to tell every little detail of your past and present life to your partner? Will it be wise to do so? I don’t think any couple can be 100% frank with their partners. However, the franker you are to your partner, stronger and healthier will be your relationship. I think both men and women are more truthful during the initial stage of their relationships. Some people however think that if you can’t tell everything to your partner it’s like being dishonest to them.
Harmless secrets: Some people think that some harmless secrets can be kept in order to maintain peace in the relationships. On the other hand, if they hide something serious, it may have a great negative impact on the relationship if the secret comes out one day.
Ideal relationship: Both the man and the woman should tell everything about their past lives to their partners when they enter into a serious relationship. In particular they should tell about their past sex life too. Both should be able to take the past history easy. They should start the relationship as best friends and stay as best friends for ever. They should never hide anything from their partners. If a couple can have such a beautiful relationship, they are truly blessed, I would say.

If they have immense understanding and love between them, they will not have anything to hide from each other.
