How to be the perfect wife – Is it possible?

How to be the perfect wife? Is a rather loaded question a question that if you consider it is impossible to describe as one mans meat is another mans poison!

Having been married for twenty five years I think it is fair to say that I have the perfect wife, however although she is perfect to me she may well drive another man crazy.

Perfection like beauty is in the eye of the beholder and therefore there can be no such thing as the perfect wife, some men would be happy with a stay at home mom who takes care of all domestic chores and responsibilities like household budgeting, cooking, cleaning and childcare, whilst this type of women would send the type of man who is seeking thrill and adventure crazy!

The only perfect wife is the one you are married to and more importantly are happy with and in order for a relationship to be successful there are many criteria, starting with physical attraction, mutual trust and of course LOVE.

In addition in order to attain a perfect wife the man or husband must also contribute and have a commitment to deepening and developing the relationship, there is so much advice and literature available to couples that often it seems overloaded.

It is therefore important to consider that if you are in search of the perfect marriage or perfect relationship or even the perfect wife one must realise it is a never ending challenge, we all row and have our fall outs and they way we come back from these can define our relationship and how it shapes up.

I have read several books on realtionships over my twenty five years of marriage things like “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus is a good starting point to understanding the fundamental diffeences between the sesxes, however it is not the holy grail!

Another program my wife introduced me to is a program by a chap called Michael Webb, although he does not claim to be psychologist or be a qualified relationship expert what he does claim to have is a blissful marriage, something I guess we all aspire to.

He has some intersting tips on rekindling your realtionship and I think it was whilst he was on Oprah that my expressed interest in this program.

So there you have it as a man who has happily married for twenty five years….well most of the time anyway!

In my humble opinion there ultimately is no such thing as a perfect wife….apart from mine and the reason I guess is that we are compatible and have worked at it!
