Your Guide to Cyber Flirtation
The advent of email means you can dazzle potential love interests from your desktop. However, as in so many other areas of life, style is everything, so follow these guidelines to ensure you really “click”.

- Keep it short. Brevity is the key ingredient to messages that will be bouncing around his head long after he’s logged off.
- Take the time to cross your cyber T’s and dot your virtual l’s. A woman who knows her apostrophes always makes an impression.
- The longer he takes to reply, the lower you are on his list of priorities. If you email him twice over a few days with no response, take the hint.
- USING CAPITALS IS THE CYBER EQUIVALENT OF SHOUTING. NOT VERY ROMANTIC IS IT?
- When sending email or SMS text messages on your mobile, don’t feel that you have to get the last word in. Pull back when you feel the momentum fading and leave him wanting more.
- A sequence of sharp, funny and spontaneous text makes a far bigger splash than regular updates.
- Experiment by using numbers and letters. The best SMS message I ever received simply read: “4NIK8?”
- Forget emoticons
those puerile symbols made of dots and dashes. They’re twee and should not be used by anyone over 20. It’s also a good idea to ease up on the exclamation marks!

Fun piece. When I use e-mail, I try to write it like a letter and avoid the shorthand. OMG!
Thanks,
