In a dominating patriarchal society, women must be active in gaining an advanced education wherein they will be qualified for exceptional employment positions. Women must take an enthusiastic stance to claim their positions in the work force to create an atmosphere friendly to women’s ideas and beliefs.

Studies have shown that men and women benefit from similar cognitive abilities.  Startling as this statement may be, it is valid.  Men and women possess equivalent abilities to form concepts, solve problems, gain general intelligence, and form memories.  One may argue that men are extra talented at mathematics, and women are particularly gifted with the ability to be creative, but research has discovered the false nature of these beliefs.  Just as previously stated, men and women benefit from similar cognitive abilities.  Although men and women are equal in their cognitive abilities, society ordains an inferiority complex stating that women lack the motivational capacity to achieve that which men do, thus women are further subordinated and demeaned.  This philosophy is validated by the evidence of various occupations still lacking the presence of female employees.  In contrast, studies have found that females earn higher grades in their educational experience than their male counterparts thus proving that women do have the motivational capacity to succeed.

As women enter the workforce, success and achievement is measured by their male supervisors and directors.  Such circumstances make women feel inadequate and fearful of success in a male dominated workforce.  Women’s opinions of success may be different and are often considered as obsolete and ineffective.  Such practices intensify the feelings of incompetence creating a deeper sense of inadequacy and fear in the woman.  Before a conclusion has been made regarding the absence of women in high ranking advisory positions, one must investigate the manner in which women are treated on the jobsite.

Women are very intellectual and competent of any occupational position.  In a dominating patriarchal society, women must be active in gaining an advanced education wherein they will be qualified for exceptional employment positions.  Women must take an enthusiastic stance to claim their positions in the work force to create an atmosphere friendly to women’s ideas and beliefs.
