To be or not to be, a single homeowner? Myths about being a single homeowner.
So, prince charming has yet to make his appearance. Still living in an apartment, when a home is financially feasible and desired? You may have fallen prey to some common myths about being a single lady and a homeowner.
Common Myth #1
It will be sad to walk by extra rooms, that are not occupied by kids yet.
Well, not really. It will be sad, if you let it. Singles have the opportunity to utilize extra rooms for their own desires. Rooms can be dedicated to personal hobbies, George Clooney shrine, amongst other fun things. While one day the rooms may be occupied by children, why not enjoy now. Make the room whatever you want and redecorate later.
Common Myth #2
Men might find it a turn off. This display of independence will scare them.
OK, not sure what kind of men actually have a problem with this. From recent surveys, men across our country love smart, and financially savvy ladies. As long as you show them they are needed in your life. The only men that seem to have an issue with it, tend to have low self esteem. And therefore should not be invited to any smart woman’s home.
Common Myth #3
But i don’t know how to fix anything.
This is where family or an on-line yellow pages comes in. Or if family is not an option, and you would rather not hire someone due to budgeting reasons. Most ladies have these wonderful male friends, that will repair for food. That’s right, offer a home cooked meal and that will usually be enough, depending on how close this friend is.
