When Glamour Fails

On the lives of glamourous women who fail.

When Sarah Palin first came on stream she was a hit with the crowds and the opinions of the day blamed that on her presentation and attractiveness.

Later on they complained about a certain lack of knowledge but thats now part of the general rejection this lady is faced with.

She was refused permission to speak at a rally just around the election time and if that is not a slap in the butt what could it ever be.  A running mate being refused an ear within days of an election.  Its like being told ” get out of here ! “

I knew someone else who suffered a similar fate here in Trinidad.  A young and very attractive girl who went in for a Miss Universe or Miss World, whichever she could get. It was all sponsored by the same people. She failed to be selected as a representative of Trinidad and Tobago and dropped out of sight like yesterday’s newspaper.

It might be hard to take. All the lights, parties, functions and the attention gone in just days. Left alone with only a reputation in the memory of those who think they might still capitalize from knowing you.

Slate magazine gives Sarah Palin some advice.  Go home and do your work.  Fix up Alaska, handle all your cloudy associations and we’ll see how it goes with the next electoral chance.
My beauty queen friend, got a job with a leading financial company and later on tried again and again with the glamour thing.  I guess she must have benefited socially and job wise too but she really got too old to succeed ahead of each year’s smiling hopefuls.

Sarah Palin needs desperately to drum up political expertise, make a real success out of being only prominent state-wise and then claw at anything else upwards in the stormy world of politics.

Oh, yes, its hard when the glamour fails, but then there is the truly democratic alternative – go out and work.
