Spring fashion for the fashion forward wannabe.

It’s that time again! The skies are blue and the grass is finally green. The trees are beginning to get dressed in their spring/summer attire, and so should you. Ok, i admit, there are a few tricky trends that you might not want to attempt this season: shoulder pads are only for the ultra tall and thin as they balance out a small frame. However, here’s the first installment of a list of trends that ANYONE can follow this season:

  1. Colour-blocking: Yes, this trend has been a must for every spring/summer collection, therefore, you should have plenty of beautifully bright tops. If you don’t and seeing as the credit crunch is stopping the best of us from spending, invest in some clothing dye and turn an old top into a new one.
  2. Safari/tribal: This could be interpreted as one of the most difficult prints to pull off. Going on holiday in the next few weeks? This is the trend for you. Visit the local markets and see what you can find; they are thriving with exotic colouts and sumptuous materials. If you aren’t lucky enough to be trekking off to a hot country, invest in some wooden jewellery. It’s an easy way to make a white t-shirt exciting. We saw statement necklaces made of leather at Burberry on the catwalk this season and any kind of chunky necklace layered over vest tops or t-shirts looks fantastic.
  3. Floral: - For petite frames, this trend is great! Small prints make a figure look much curvier; if you are petite, opt for tiny flowers instead of chunkier ones. A favourite trend of the celebrities this season is pixalated florals, which look great on vest tops. You could even create your own with a marker and a plain vest top!
