Breast Cancer Events in Cincinnati

As the second-most common cancer for women (behind skin cancer), breast cancer is a threat to our mothers, aunts, sisters, grandmothers and girlfriends. According to The American Cancer Society, more than 192,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about 41,000 will die. However, the mortality rate could decrease by 30 percent if all women 50 and older had a mammogram each year. This kind of education is crucial in fighting against breast cancer, and the Komen Greater Cincinnati organization certainly plays its part in hosting multiple, fun-filled events each year around October, or Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to further aid in research and information.

Here’s a rundown of the major breast cancer events happening at the end of September and October in Cincinnati. All proceeds go to the Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. Unless noted in the information below, to sign up for any of the events, visit the Komen Greater Cincinnati site and click on “Events.”
