Young Mom Discriminated Against

A young mom takes her son to a birthday party.

A young mom only 18 years of age took her son to a birthday party. He was in Kindergarten and was invited to his very first party so she thought it would be best to take him. Always keeping his best interests in mind she decided it would be a great opportunity to meet his friend and his family. They arrived at the party with gifts in hand. The mother to the birthday boy introduced herself and the other mother introduced herself. After introductions, the older mother looked at the young mother as though she were the devil himself. Shortly after, the older mother took her son aside, unknown what was said, the young mother and her son sat with the rest of the guests.

As the party began, the birthday boy did not include his friend in any of the activities. The birthday boy and his family acted as though the young mom and the precious little boy did not even exist. The young mom didn’t know what to do, she hadn’t been put in this type of situation before, so doing what she thought was best, she sat the party out and waited until the gifts were opened and left the party. Her son was so saddend that he was not included that he cried most of the way home and it took him many years before he would go to a party. How could someone hurt a young child like this. Is it really necessary to descriminate against. Maybe this young mom is a very good one. Just because you are young doesn’t mean that you can’t be the greatest mother in the world.

this is so true! Young moms do make great moms. If you care to please feel free to read my story on teen pregnacy and you will see that I understan just what you are going through. Young moms make great moms, just because they are young that doesn’t make them a bad parent. Great writing
