 Why do women feel guilty??

Every time I used to see a shampoo advertisement on television in which the girl blatantly commands her mother to quit going to work as she is not taking care of her hair as granny used to for her, I used to feel awful .I could see the future in that ad .When my 9 month old daughter would grow up ,even she will have such insistences which will be a reminiscent for me of being a ‘not so good’ mother as I would not be there with her all the time for everything.

When we go out to work , we do not work for ourselves only but for our families. We share the financial responsibilities of our spouses the onus of which was on them alone since primal times, we invest  our hard work into our kids’ future , we try to do all kinds of chores which make our in-laws and our loved ones happy in whatever time we get in day or on offs.

If we are doing so much then why is this undesirable guilt feel arising in us ..may be it finds its origin in the way our society still opines about working woman. It is a bigotry that’s continuing since years  that if women are out of home for work they are not paying as much attention as their counterparts staying at home are paying , which is totally wrong and should be tossed out of thoughts by everyone including ourselves. The woman who is at home definitely has more advantage of being with everyone all the time but the one who works too wish to do everything for ones she loves and cares for.

Therefore, next time if any of you feel anxious about you being ‘not so good’ just jot down on paper how many things you have done during the day and stand in front of mirror …you will be able to see a Wonder Woman ..who knows her duties , responsibilities, rights and powers. But hey …while taking care of everyone do remember an important person ….that’s YOU!!! Take care of your self too…………………..!!!
