We Got Flu Shots! Why The Heck are The Kids Sick?(humor)

Sometimes being a mommy is just sickening.
Well,it’s been three months since my kids got their flu shots, and my daughter has missed five days of school .The baby has had what ever it is they’ve been passing around three times and my husband has been sick at least twice with the same bug(whatever it is).So I’m stuck playing Florence Nightingale, and the maid ,nanny ,and short order cook to three sick people.Which makes me so glad I haven’t caught this crud yet(knock on wood).I’m trying to hold on to what remaining sanity I have and hope my in laws don’t catch it.I’ve had to have our carpets cleaned and the upholstery cleaned and sanitized a couple of times already, just gonna use bleach ,Lysol, and the carpet steamer(with upholstery attachment )until everybody is well. The folks at the carpet place know me by name and have our credit card numbers on file.I think we paid for their kid’s Christmas presents .I have learned a few interesting facts about my family and illness though, first off there is no age difference between my 2 yr old and my husband when they are sick, and the only real difference is that the older one drinks from a crazy straw and not a sippy cup.My daughter will sleep all day and not move(I’ve had to check her pulse a few times)but, will stay up all night coughing and watching t.v.(therefore keeping the entire house awake).I also found out my kids are the 1 in 10 that can’t take benydryl(Oh My Goodness) they get so hyper they could power a large city for 6 hrs(or at least until it gets out of their systems and they pass out).I have also figured out that if I get sick I will not get this kind of loving care.Well for now I can keep the kids mostly sedated (thank you children’s nyquil)and kind of keep the house clean enough to live in (if not completly sanitary). My mom in law asks what I do all day and I snap and tell her apparently not enough and burst into tears and storm out of the house,my husband climbs out of bed to go look for me (I’m up a tree in our back yard)I’m just sitting up there thinking(about jumping, kidding)about how you can only do so much ,I’m hoping they all get better soon so I can go back to really doing things in the house and not just running damage control, and praying I don’t catch it .there are alot of things I’d rather be doing besides getting sick.
