The Power of a Child

A new mother’s experience.

A child will turn your world upside down.  It only takes one to accomplish this massive change in your life.  You have the twenty-four hour feedings.  They depend on you costantly.  You feel guilty with every little mistake you make with your child, especially your first child.

The stress you feel is just tremendous, unlike anything you have ever felt.  You will never feel this kind of stress anywhere else,  not even at work.  When you feel like your nerves are ready to seep out of your skin and your mind is ready to explode with worry and frustration, your child will always do something unexpected.  At this moment your child will say “mommy”  and everything will come to a complete stop.

This moment may only last a couple of minutes.  This moment created by your  child has just taken away any and all worries and frustrated feelings for the past 6 months and created a moment of joy and happiness.  A feeling of joy and happiness so deep there is nothing like it.  A feeling  unlike any you have ever felt.   The first sight of your true love and husband didn’t even feel like this.  A child can be so powerful.
