The Day of an Average Mom: Part One

A short moment to moment series of a day in the life of a average, simple stay at home mom like me.

Am I so special I am writing about myself? No. I am just an average stay at home mom of two kids: a 10 month old baby girl Sophie and 2 year old boy, Nic. Yes, I don’t like spelling Nic as the traditional way Nick. I like it simple. If your day starts out like this or different, please let me know how. I love to know how other moms are doing since each child is so different and colorful. Every mom has a story to tell and I would like to hear those stories in their articles. So send me a message of your article. I am curious to know how other moms are doing it all. Some days I just feel so incompetent and I can’t get a thing done. Other days, I feel like I did a great job especially when my kids show me new things they have learned. It’s an awesome job.

My typical morning begins at 6:30 am when one of my sweethearts usually wakes up. Together, they wake up at least once a night so I am up every night at least two times.

On a rough night,I am up 6 times going between Sophie‘s room and Nic’s room. If Nic hears baby Sophie,he follows me over to her room. The drama then begins when I don’t answer his cry. He cries louder for me to come and when I don’t. He comes into her room crying and hysterically crying and pointing to the crib demanding I put her back and at times he is practically screaming. Dad comes over and tries to put him back to bed. He is not obliging. He is now arguing, “I know…” is all I can hear from next door. Sophie and Nic’s room are right in front of my master bedroom. Our bedrooms form a circle, the fourth bedroom is on the other side of the house by the garage. And yes,I am breastfeeding so naturally I am going to be up at night. Quit complaining, right? I am not complaining or writing this article to complain. I just wanted to document for the future a typical day of an average mother. For this day when I am with a toddler and a baby are short. I am savoring each moment with them, but that is almost over since my baby Sophie is naturally weaning herself. Nic is only a couple years away from kindergarten. Everyone says the time goes by quick, but I don’t want to hear that. “Let me enjoy the moment, ” I tell them. I want to live in the now with my young family.

Wow! This is way too familiar! During typical times liked these, I just try to remind myself that time will pass, and it will get betteras the children mature. When they’re really sweet, I keep the memory of that moment to help me through the tough days:
