She’s Coming Home!

Yes, I realize that it has only been six days, but I am still so excited to see my college freshman.

It is amazing how long six days can seem.  Less than one week ago, we were dropping our daughter off, with lots of hope and prayers, at college.  She has had a successful week, but is ready for a break from dorm living already, and that’s fine with us!

In her words, “I miss you guys, I need a break from my roommate, I have laundry and some free food sounds nice.”

So, I have cleaned the game room, scrounged up some vegetarian food and have tried to do all of our laundry in advance of the mountain that is surely coming.

A collection of things to take back is growing in the garage, and I imagine that a few snacks will be sneaked in as well.

I can hardly wait to see her beautiful face, to hear her giggling with her little sister, to see her snuggling with our forlorn dog and to enjoy a couple of days of our family in its completed state.

Sure, it will be tough to send her out again, but knowing she is so close is such a blessing.  I cannot thank God enough for giving me the family that He has.  Truly, “He has done everything well” (Mark 7:37).
