“Mommy’s Hiding”

Really…The Mommy is hiding and with good reason. Finding a quiet little place in our home for a few minutes is not easy.

The whole week had just been completely insane around our house and I was nearly losing my mind! It seemed like everything for work was due at once and actually needed ‘yesterday’. The LandLord was bringing in prospective realtor agents for selling the home through the house. The Lenders we are using to buy our first home are dragging their feet and asking tons of questions. It is to the point that I am expecting them to ask for a kidney and two toes any moment! Being a first time home buyer is not easy and the process takes forever. Then there are the four kids that still live at home asking a million questions on whether they will be going to their old school or their new school. I can’t blame them, heck I wish I knew myself! So we registered for school at the old one, but pray they get to just go to the new one. Both start at different times of the month, which is just the kind of luck we have as parents. Each child also has a school supply list containing enough needed items to provide for five kids for the entire year! This sure makes me wonder where education funds really go. The teachers don’t seem to be getting it and most schools seem to be doing more fund-raising than educating these days.
We also got a last minute call from the biological Mother of our youngest. We have had her for the summer and now her mom has decided to let her live with us and go to school here this year. Though we have no problem with this at all personally, trying to obtain all of the paperwork we need in order to change schools is gut-wrenching. Our youngest is also ADHD ( as I think our entire family is!! ), so she needs lots of consistency. I’m not even sure if the rest of the household knows the meaning of that word. Seems the more I attempt to establish it, the crazier things become.
So with kids hollering for school items and new clothes, our work making me nuts by piling on paperwork, handling finances and tons of household chores and cooking, my brain began to actually ‘hurt’ as if it were going to explode from overload. A few nights before I had actually fallen asleep exhausted with my ipod earphones in my ears and no music even playing. My husband thought I was ignoring him, but in reality I was just too dang tired to fight with the thing once I couldn’t get it to come on. I must admit though, I did enjoy the silence of hearing ‘nothing’. I usually have to fall asleep to the annoying sounds of ‘Lock Up Raw’ prison shows and the ‘Ching! Ching!’ of my husband playing online fake poker with his buddies.
