Your bundle of joy is here and so is that horrific post-baby belly. You don’t have to be a celebrity to lose weight like one, see how easily you can lose that post-baby belly once and for all.

So you waited 9 months and your blessing has arrived leaving you with a “beautiful” sack of skin in front of you. Your baby bump may have been cute but this post-baby belly is horrific. How is it that celebrities seem to lose weight so quickly, they swell up during pregnancy and within months even weeks after delivery they shrink down to nothing? It’s simple, they’re being paid to lose the weight, their careers depend on it.  Although you and I are not being paid for our weight loss endeavors we can still lose that post baby belly once and for all.

Breastfeeding is one way to speed up your weight loss. The difference in a mother who breast feeds vs. a mother who does not is drastic. Breastfeeding shrinks the uterus and works out the whole body. Ever feel tired during or after breastfeeding your baby? That is why. Breastfeeding can burn up to 500 extra calories a day, so in conjunction with a healthy diet you will be well on your way. Even if you slip a candy bar or two, 500 extra calories a day is a lot of lead-way.

Exercising is important and another key factor in getting a great post-baby body. Although you can not exercise until at least 6 weeks postpartum, when you do begin be sure to commit to a routine. Yoga and pilates are what the celebrities do and trust me it works. Yoga focuses on balance and your core tightening up those abs and making you longer and leaner. Dancing is also a great way of exercise, it’s fun and you can do it anytime. Planks are a great way of tightening the stomach muscles too. To do lie down on the floor on your stomach then raise up on your toes and forearms as if doing a push up on your forearms. Hold yourself in this position for 30 seconds then relax, do this at least 5 times building up to 1 minute. Be sure to pull your abs into your spine when doing this move.

Time is key. Loosing weight within the first few months after giving birth will really help you and will keep you motivated. Women who do not lose their baby weight within 6 months of giving birth are likely to still cary the weight 5 years later. As soon as you get the go to exercise get on board you will be glad you did.
