Pregnancy causes women to pile on the fat. If you do not lose that extra fat within one year of childbirth, can you still get back your old shape?
After childbirth, most women find it hard to get back their figures. I know. I went from a size S or M to maternity size and stayed that way for 10 years after my younger one was born.
They say that if you don’t get back in shape right after giving birth, you’ll be stuck with a dumpy figure forever.
Whoever they are, they are dead wrong.
You can get back in shape. You just have to work at it.
The fail-safe way to lose weight is to run. Don’t gorge down more food though. Watch what you eat. Keep a food diary if you must so that you will know if you eat more than normal.
Wake up an hour earlier each day.
Put on your running bra. Regular bras don’t give you the support you need when you run. Wear a sports bra to prevent breasts from sagging before their time.
Change to your running clothes.
Put on your running shoes. Don’t stinge on these. Get yourself a good pair of running shoes. Here’s an article on how to choose your running shoes.
Go out there and run around the neighborhood for at least 30 minutes.
For a start, running might be a bit too much.
If you can’t run, can you jog?
If you can’t jog, can you walk?
Do this gradually. If you have been sedentary all along, start by brisk walking.
Over the weeks, bring that up to a slow jog.
Jog faster each week until you can go for a slow run.
Soon, you’d be able to run 5 km easily. Then 10km.
You know what, as you improve your speed, you’d see a difference in your figure as running burns away the fat and lets you get your shape back.
