From a Child to a Young Adult

A child is a precious gift, and how you care for them is very important, to love and to cherish, for much quicker than we expect independent adults they become. They move on with their lives just as we have done. Do your best as a parent and the rest is up to them.
We bring children into this world, and some of us take them for granted, while some are having so many, and others are unable to have any at all. When you have a child, whether she is yours, or a friends or someone you’re caring for, there is a certain type of respect that they deserve from us. They are little people with minds and wills of their own, which require gentle molding and firm boundaries to live by. They are precious gifts that should care for a loving tender way even when they seem to be at war with us, they are fighting for their independence.
Watching my children and the discoveries they have made over the years, gives me such a delight; as I sit a watch them, go from a child to a young adult. Yesterday I was helping them to take their first step, and then before I knew it they were running all around. The first five years I watched them closely, for those where my years with them.
Off to school, and in someone else hands I placed my trust in their educators and advisors, from counting numbers to writing letters before I knew it was multiplication tables and research papers. Today I watched my younger one, determined not to be late scrabbling off to school, a young woman I was watching.

My older one a man now, is still my little boy, but through the years he has grown with style that is his own. At times we do not agree, and as lazy as they may be; I thank the Lord each day that he made through his high school years. What the future holds for him, no one really knows, but I did my best to teach him well, the rest is up to him.
Now as I see my children, the young adults they have become I am at awe with the cycle of life, that we all take part in. Only yesterday I too, was just a child, who went on to be a young adult; and as the time marches on my parents I have become.
So for all the young adults, and parents enjoy your children while they are young, help the to explore the world around them, because before you know it they are off and on their own.

Look after your kids
You brought them
Into this world to suffer
As you failed to take precautions
You wanted to enjoy sex
Without condoms
Poor children should suffer
Because of your folly,
Had you taken care
The world population
Would have been just
When Christ existed,
Perhaps a few millions
See now where the population
Is headed to will be
12 billion by 2040
You would not be there
To shoulder the responsibility
That you are seeding
So at least take care
Of your kids
Prevent teenage population
In addition teach them
What you failed to do
Help
They cope
But unlike you
