Are you expecting and don’t know what to expect? 1st Time Mom, read on. I just had my first born and he is amazing. So much to know and sort through. Well, here’s some good advice from my personal experience.

  1. Eat small meals as soon as you find out you are pregnant and eat every 1.5 hours.  You need to do more healthy snacking.
  2. Drink 80 ounces of water (add lemon or healthy juices with water for taste)
  3. Buy Yoga Prenatal with Shea Riva – DVD at Target for $20, it is so worth it and goes through each trimester of pregnancy which makes the exercises easy for you to perform. Make sure to talk to your doctor first.
  4. Get a birth / balance ball, it helps with sore butt and muscles.
  5. Sleep tip : Lay on left or right side only when sleeping, never on back.
  6. Keep track of bowel movements and water you drink daily, so you don’t get compaction (severe constipation) .
  7. A great way to track your pregnancy information and stay organized is to buy “The What to Expect Pregnancy Journal and Organize” from Heidi Murkoff for about $13. It tracks baby shower, daily information, birth plan, movements, weight tracking, doctor appointments, exercising, class information, and so much more.
  8. Avoiding Horrible stretch marks: Remember to use Mother’s Friend lotion everyday on your midsection/belly to prevent stretch marks. It can be found at Rite Aid.
  9. Keep active by yoga or walking.
  10. Read as much as possible about how to take care of baby. Once the little one gets here, you won’t have much time. A childbirth class is also a must.
  11. Breastfeeding is a learned behavior for both you and your baby.  Make sure to read on this first. It usually takes up to 6 weeks to really get it down. You will need a breast pump definitely. They are expensive, but you can price at www.frucell.com.
