Behind THE White Veil

A CONFESSION: This is a poem of the feeling that every woman in the world has for their husbands
Let me rise by one in the morning
And let me stand against the window sill
Let me replace the pillow under your head
And let me trace the silhouette of your face
Let me share with you the blanket where I’m in
Cuddle your arms and twine our feet
Let me wash your clothes and clean the house
And let me wait for you til you’re back on dusk
Let me bear your child and give him your name
Make you your coffee and join you watch the night sky
Let me join you on your travels with your life
And share with me the pain when you cry
Let me be your better half, let me share with you
The joy of our love that in my heart overflows
Let me stay awake and embrace the morning with you
For you are the man to who I said “I do”
