True Flower and Flower Harmony Scents

There is a single prevailing flower scent such as jasmine, lilac, rose, lavender, lily of the valley, gardenia, mimosa, carnation, and many more for the true flower perfumes.  For more simple floral scents the perfumer blends various fragrances of the same family to achieve the perfect note of the single flower.

Most perfumes contain some flower notes; when several flower scents are combined, a subtle harmony of flower fantasy is achieved. Apart from the floral scents, there are some other distinguishable notes, but the flowery overtone is still primarily recognizable.

Fresh Fragrances

Fresh perfumes are particularly suitable for the younger woman.  Though still floral in character, they all have a distinct “green” scent.  These are usually obtained from the citrus family, such as oranges, lemons, and sweet limes.  “Fruity” perfumes also belong to this group which is evocative of summer and fruit ripening in the sun.  Fruity and green scents are good to wear to perk up your day.

Spicy Scents

Great perfumes fall into this group, all of them deriving their character from true spice ingredients such as vanilla, clove, cinnamon or ginger.  Oriental types of perfume are included in this category, too.  These blends can be heavy because of the deep notes of musk, amber, vitever, patchouli, and civet, or they can have a distinctly sweetish bouquet distinguished by jasmine or rose notes. These scents can be sexy, so wear this when you intend to be remembered.

Woody Scents

Woody perfumes, like most scents have flowery notes although their classification is non- floral.  However, you can easily recognize their tenacious undertones of aromatic exotic sandalwood, camphor, cedar wood, and rosewood.  Because of their warmth woody perfumes are perfect for the sophisticate, and because of their natural scents are also suited for a person who loves the outdoors. Wear this if you’re feeling sensual and exotic. This is a great “hot” date perfume.
