Tips If You are Considering Plastic Surgery

The outcome of your plastic surgery can be determined on the research you do beforehand.
Almost 12 million cosmetic plastic surgeries were performed in the United States in 2007, up 59 percent from 2000. Unfortunately, not all surgeries ended happily. There are no reliable statistics on the number of botched cosmetic surgeries, but it is a serious issue none the less. Everyone needs to make a careful choice before going under the knife. Many end up with infection, misshapen facial features or scars, if the surgeon isn’t skilled enough.
Even with the complications that can occur, the number of people having these procedures done increases every year. The top five cosmetic surgeries in 2007 were breast augmentation, liposuction, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery and tummy tucks.
You can reduce you risk of complications by doing some research beforehand.
You need to find the right surgeon for your needs. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons can provide a list by region of board certified surgeons.
If a friend has had cosmetic surgery you can ask for their opinion of their surgeon.
You can also consult with a trusted family physician or call a respected hospital in your community.
Always interview with your prospective surgeon. Prepare questions and write down the surgeon’s answers.
Ensure that he or she has extensive experience in the type of surgery you are interested in.
Make sure you verify credentials. For a fee, the Federation of State Medical Boards, fsmb, can confirm a doctor’s medical license.
We are all in control of our choices. In the case of plastic surgery, make sure you do your research before, rather than suffer afterwards.

I would never have plastic surgery, even if I did need it. Too many things can go wrong, besides, beauty is on the inside, not the outside.
