Oily skin is prone to pimples and other spots or acne. Usually, oily skinned persons’ oil glands produce more oil than necessary. There are many reasons for having oily skins. Of those, the more dominant are heredity, diet and hormonal imbalances.

If one by blood is oily skin, he or she may have little scope to improve the condition. The person would have to resort to some medicated cosmetics to reduce the oily content of the skin.

One can control one’s diet to get rid of oily skin. A general avoidance of fatty food in daily diet would considerably dry out the skin. Take adequate protein. Have restriction on sugar, salt and fluids. Deficiency of Vitamin B2 makes the skin oily. Take plenty of water to flush out the toxins. Do not drink soft drinks. Consumption of too much of alcohol and smoking are also not good for skin.

It is by doctors’ help, one can normalize one’s hormonal imbalance. But for adolescence oily skin, one need not worry. It would normalize automatically.

It is also seen during pregnancy women develop oily skin. One need not bother for that. After the childbirth, the skin returns to its original condition. Developing oily skin is one of the side effects of wanton consumption of birth control pills. Care should be taken in choosing such pills. Overuse of such pills should also be avoided.

Some cosmetics are also responsible for growing oily skin. One should be selective and take lessons from beauticians or physicians before choosing any particular brand of cosmetics. Tropical weather also plays foul with oil glands. One should take extra care of skin in such a climate.

Too much of dry skin is also not healthy. Usually people get rough with ageing. The natural shine of the skin gives way to coarse and dry layer. The advantage of having oily skin is that it ages slowly. However, oily skin gives more trouble than a normal skin. A normal skin has a proportionate combination of oil and dryness.

Oily skin requires more cleansing than normal skin. Skin should be washed with warm water to prevent the pores from getting clogged. Use of harsh products, which may turn the skin dry, is bad for health. The dryness is temporary, as oil glands would overwork to make the skin oilier later.

Do not use moisturizer if your skin is extremely oily. You may require moisturizer once you start ageing. Before that, your oily skin needs no artificial shine.

Regular massaging proves to be very good for oily skin. Massaging would circulate the blood on the face more forcefully and the resultant heat would dry out the extra oil from your skin. A massage of face with fingertips in upward and outward direction would keep the wrinkles out for a long period of time. It would also leave no scope for the pores to be clogged by dirt.

Some facials are good for oily skin. Mask made of clay and honey takes out the extra oil from the face. After removing the mask, use some anti-septic cream on the face, so that no bacteria grow. You can also apply a mesh of cucumber and lime on the face as a facial. This is good for oily skin as it cleanse the pores leaving no scope to grow acne. Witch hazel is very good for absorbing oil.

The Made from Earth Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum is perfect for my skin. My chin, forehead and especially my nose tend to be oily, but the rest of my face can be really dry. Anything I use to prevent or reduce acne generally dries out my face. I haven’t been able to find this moisturizer at my regular stores lately, so I used another brand’s moisturizer (Dove, I believe), and my face started breaking out by the next day. I’ve read other reviews where people said this moisturizer makes their skin softer than it’s ever been. I guess it just really depends on your skin type. They should sell cheaper samples, so people can try out these kind of products. Oh well. I’m just glad to find it on their website – if your looking for it its: http://www.madefromearth.com.
