The Skin on Your Face

The skin of your face is exposed to more problems than is the skin of any other part of your body.

The skin of your face is exposed to more problems than is the skin of any other part of your body. There are times when your hands are protected by glove, but when is your face protected against anything? Your facial skin is subjected to heat and cold, and to the drying influence of the elements, the wind and the sun. Nature helps us out by producing more oil here as a protection. As the temperature of the climate in which you live goes up, nature compensates by producing more oil to prevent the skin of the face from drying out. The wise person helps nature by adding a moisturizer to the skin instead of expecting nature to handle the total problem.

Many people have skin problems because of soap but few people recognize this as a problem. Very few people would be willing to give up soap, and yet, even though we have become accustomed to using it and think of soap as it relates to cleanliness, soap is not as clean as we tend to think it is.

If you use soap, you must be certain that you remove all traces of it from the skin when you finish washing. Soap is an alkaline substance containing animal fats. These fats can clog into the pores and cause blemishes and infections. But worse than that, the alkaline in the soap is a neutralizer for the natural acid condition of the skin. Nature has made our skin acid because germs and bacteria cannot live in acid condition. Bacteria thrives in an alkaline condition. When we use soap and neutralize the acid condition of the skin, we create an ideal living condition for bacteria. Unless you use a soap that has a slightly acid base, you will have to exercise extreme care in removing all traces of the soap from your skin.

Purchase a bottle of apple cider vinegar (no other kind will do) dilute to 5% for table use. Further dilute this by adding two parts water to one part vinegar. Keep this solution in a bottle close to where you wash, and each time you wash your face, rinse the soap off thoroughly and then rinse the face with this solution. This will neutralize the alkaline residue left by the soap and help restore the natural acid condition of the skin, preventing any bacteria from getting a foothold, and reducing your chances of facial infections or the development of pimples by about seventy percent. You will notice that after a week or so of using this solution your face will begin to take on a healthier glow than you have ever seen it with before. The skin will feel more alive and you will look more radiant. Try it. You will be surprised at the results.
