Solutions to Dry Skin

It’s winter time, and one of the most lovely things it brings is dry skin. Luckily, you’ve got some options in keeping this nasty condition at bay.
Take short Cool Showers
I know its tempting, but did you know that taking long hot showers actually dries your skin out? To reduce dryness, take shorter luke warm showers, or ones that are not so boiling hot. Trust me, it may not be as enjoyable, but when you get out of the shower, your skin will feel a lot better.
Drink Plenty of Water
A Philosophy of mine is “drink one 8oz glass of water every hour you’re awake”. This has many benefits. 1. It causes skin to be soft, 2. It causes skin to be clearer, 3. It causes you to be more alert and less tired, and 4. It puts you in a good mood. If you cannot adopt this philosophy, then at least try to get at least 64-100 oz a day.
Moisturizing is the key
Moisturizing, especially after showering, will cause the moisture in your skin to be retained. Ladies, if you have dry hands, I definetly recommend the hand cream from Victoria’s Secret. Its called Candy Baby. This makes your hands really soft, without making them greasy. It also works your body as well. However I don’t recommend using it on your face. This may cause you to breakout. A great all over moisturizer would be anything from Jergen’s to simple affordable Sauve. However, most of these range within the same price range. One of the best lotions I have ever used, actually it is the best, is Avojuice skin quencher, which you can find at www.amazon.com or www.eznails.com at affordable prices. My favorite scent is the pear.
Consume healthy foods
Like with everything else, in order to have soft moisturized skin, you need to eat fruits, vegetables, and nuts. If you get enough of these, your skin will approve in appearance. Abstain from red meats as much as you can because too many will cause your skin to be leathery in appearance and touch. When you eat healthy foods you will feel better as well
Follow these steps, and I promise your skin will be softer.
