Stop schlepping so much stuff. Next time you need a beauty fix, dip into your diaper bag.

Baby products tend to work well for adults especially those with sensitive skin because they have few irritants. You might keep using the following products even after the little ones grow up.

  1. SUNSCREEN

Children’s sun protection formulas usually contain the super UV reflectors Zinc Dioxide or Micronized Titanium dioxide. You can find the latter in Erbaviva Children’s Sunscreen SPF 15,which leaves no heavy, oily residue. Another pleasant surprise is that it is scented with a hint of lavender and chamomile-so you can block those rays without smelling like a Pina Colada.

  2. FRAGRANCE

A scent for the toddler set won’t weigh you down with an overpowering smell. Burberry Baby Touch Eau De Toilette is alcohol-free, and its combination of wild mint, jasmine, vanilla, and milk lingers subtly.

  3. DIAPER CREAM

Antibacterial and anti-fungal ingredients in these cream keep skin safe from irritations and infections. They also create a barrier that prevents chafing or cracking. Burt’s Bees Baby Dee Diaper Ointment protects and softens skin with Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and sweet almond oil.

  4. SHAMPOO

Cradle cap products, like Mustella Foam Shampoo For Newborns, are great substitutes for dandruff shampoo if you have a mild case of flakes. This treatment contains the same stuff that’s in, in some grown-up products-beta-hydroxy acid to exfoliate the scalp and climbazole; an anti-fungal ingredient-but leaves out other ingredients that can irritate.

  5. BODY LOTIONS

The thin, silky smoothers soften grown-up skin without leaving it feeling greasy. I found the sweet, gentle scent of Crabtree & Evelyn’s Tom Kitten baby Lotion irresistible, and you can stock up on more when you see how easily it spread over rough spots.

  6. LIP BALM

Unlike so many adult products. Lip balms for tots are typically free of fragrance and flavour. Kiehl’s Baby Lip Balm is no exception; it seems to float onto your lips and stays moist for a longtime. It also glides easily over lipstick to lend a touch of shine.

  7. WIPES

You can spot a mom in a crowd by how fast she pulls out a baby’s wipe for everything (Getting crumbs off fingers, freshening up faces and so on). Pampers Natural Aloe Touch Wipes are soft and gentle, with mild lotion for thorough cleansing; they’re great for lifting off stubborn eye makeup fast.

As a mom of two, I can say I very much agree! I receive a lot of baby lotion for my kids, but I never let my babies use it: I read that babies don’t need lotion because their skin is chock-full of oil glands – which must be true because my babies do have soft skin despite never having seen lotion. But I use their lotion myself because it’s so easily absorbed and non-greasy :) It’s great!
