Learn what exfoliation is and how to exfoliate the skin with natural ingredients.

Exfoliating your skin manually with natural ingredients can help to rejuvenate your skin. Salt, sugar, baking soda, oatmeal, corn meal, almond meal, lemon juice, grapefruit oils, olive oil, pineapple, papaya and tomato are natural skin exfoliators. Natural skin exfoliators can be mixed together and used to scrub the body. An easy exfoliating combination would be to mix olive oil and baking soda together. Mixing sugar with papaya would be another good skin exfoliating scrub.

Exfoliating the skin helps to remove the dead skin cells on the surface so the skin looks fresh and healthy. Exfoliation is a natural process of sloughing off dead skin cells which are replaced by new skin cells underneath. The dead skin cells on the surface of the skin are sloughed off in this natural physiological process.

In some conditions something may interfere with the normal functioning of the process and it may be beneficial to exfoliate the skin manually. It is not so easy for the skin to slough off dead skin with oily skin because the oil is sticky. Dead skin cells accumulate faster in dry skin. Dry skin also requires more moisture. The cellular renewal process may be slower in older people. In these conditions natural skin exfoliation is slower and the skin may look dull. So in these types of cases manual exfoliation may help the skin to shed dead skin cells and renew itself.

Tomato, lemon and sugar will help to exfoliate the skin. You can apply them to your skin and leave them on for a while as an exfoliating facial. The nutrients will absorb into the skin. You can also rub your skin in a circular motion to help exfoliate your skin. The skin should be moisturized after exfoliating.

Hi again. I just found your articles, because I typed in green tea for dieting. I have extreme issues with the heals of my feet. I actually soak them about three times a week in very warm water and dawn. And the scrub with all my might. It is very tough during warm water, because of the types of shoes. I do not know if these remedies will be strong enough for me. Thanks
