Natural Skin Care Solution 2: Milk and Lemon Facial Mask
Cheap, simple, safe and effective skin care solution right out of your pantry.
Milk is believed to be the one of the earliest beauty regimen that dates back to the time of the queens and princesses of the great Middle Eastern civilizations. Using milk for bathing and moisturizing skin since time immemorial has brought about the production of skin care products that we know of today.
Soaps, facial care and skin care products are the most common beauty secret weapons of men and women. Beauty products that have milk as the main ingredient have intrigued the masses and later on were embraced because of the many benefits they provide.
However, these beauty products are quite expensive especially those that bear the famous names and brands in the market. The same skin care regimen of the queens that was readily available has become the gold mine of manufacturers and brand names.
But who says you cannot afford to be beautiful? From time to time a woman or a man should spend on skin care. But for frequent usage, there’s the benefit of using natural products that can cost you only a few dollars or less.
Milk is cheap, so does a piece of lemon. Now what do you do with these two? Simple, make a cheap but effective facial mask out of it.
Here’s what to do:
- You may use any liquid milk. But it is better to use regular milk from your pantry or the grocery store.
- Grab a lemon and squeeze the juice. You may use only half of the lemon for starters.
- In a small bowl, pour about ¼ cup of milk
- Add in the lemon juice and stir
- The milk will curdle because of the acidity of the lemon juice. Don’t worry, this is absolutely fine. Just mix the 2 ingredients together until the liquid dissolves and forms into a thick, creamy mixture.
- Rinse and dry your face with plain water
- Using clean hands, apply the milk and lemon mixture on to your face and neck
- Leave the mask for about 15 to 20 minutes
- Rinse your face and neck with plain water
- Dry off and feel the difference
Note: If you do not like too much acidity on your facial mask, simply lessen the amount of lemon juice. Experiment and try every now and then to get the right consistency and to customize your mixture.
The protein, fat and enzymes in milk help moisturize your skin. The vitamins in lemon juice and the natural oils are added benefits to soften, clean and moisturize your skin as well.
Now, who says beauty cannot come cheap?

not sure about the bleaching part though..in this case, the lemon juice is for providing added nutrients and vitamins. but if you’re going to look at some of the skin products out there, fruits particularly citrus are also used as ingredients.
thanks all for your comments.
