How to Get Rid of Zits!
I have created a simple, easy to use, plain English guide on how to get rid of zits.
All of us get spots at some point or other during our lives. More often then not we receive the bulk of our spots during our teenage years, and they can make our life a nightmare.
People are often miss-informed about spots, and think that if they wash more then their spots will disappear; some people say that masturbation causes spots, this is again false, and some people believe that they get spots due to where they live. In actual fact it’s slightly more complicated then this!
So I have created a simple, easy to use, plain English guide!
- Firstly we need to determine your Skin type. Below is a table in order to determine your skin type, just look at the table below and see which column sounds most like your skin.

- Now we have worked out what skin type you have, we are one step closer to combating your spots! Now, only 1% of the adult population have “normal” skin, so it’s actually more common to have one of the other types!
- We now need to work out the characteristics of your skin; these are basically, the additional things that your skin can be. It is possible to have all of the characteristics listed below.

- Now you know your skin type completely, congratulations! This is the main cause of most people getting spots, if they don’t know their own skin type; they can’t choose the correct products to use on their face!
- Now we can work out which skin products u can use to help combat your spots most effectively. The three main products used by people to maintain a healthy skin are a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, but an exfoliant may also be used.
Cleansers are used to clean the skin of its impurities. An impurity is anything that may cause an adverse (bad) reaction on your face. For example, Dead skin cells, Dirt, Old make up, Sebum and perspiration. These can all clog the pores and have the chance of turning into spots!
In the table below, you can search for your skin type and then find out what product you can use on it.

Additionally an Exfoliant (scrub) may be used to wash with. These generally give a deeper cleanse, but don’t necessarily work best for all skin types.
The scrubs work by peeling off excess skin, for this reason people with sensitive skin should be cautious when using one, and are advised to test a small area of their skin first.
Please note Exfoliants work best if used every 5-7 days. Using an exfoliant on your skin every day may cause damage!

Once a cleanser has been used, a toner can then be applied to freshen the skin and remove any lasting traces of cleanser (such as milk)
- There are only two types of toner
- A toner, or tonic, may be used on combination or normal skin
- A Freshener may be used on sensitive skins
- An oily skin type doesn’t need to use a toner, and won’t receive the full benefits of using one. However if you should feel that a toner is necessary it is possible to buy a toner designed for oily skin types.
To Use:
A little toner may be applied to cotton wool or tissue and wiped on the face. It does not need to be washed off again.
Once you are cleansed and toned a moisturizer may be used. This helps dry skins, can contain sunscreen and provides a barrier against everyday dirt!
A moisturizer isn’t the best product that an oily skin type could use, but again if felt needed a moisturizer designed specifically for oily skin types should be used, or it can make spots worse.

This guide does not contain any brand names as I don’t believe that certain brands are better then another. It does however tell you what u need to look at without being conned. When washing always remember to treat your face with respect, scrubbing it can damage the skin!
A facial wash should take about 3 minutes to cleanse, 1 minute to tone, and 2 minutes to moisturize. If done twice a day, skin should be clearer and healthier within a few weeks.
For additional problems, please leave a comment and I will get back to you in due course.
